During the month of February Prestige Jewellers shows some love to the community by supporting the Wood Buffalo Food Bank Association (WBFB).

With donations being down due to the COVID-19 pandemic the WBFB posted a photo of their empty shelves on Facebook.

General Manager for Prestige Jewelers, Mohammad Tarrabin said they decided to step up their annual campaign.

“We had a slogan happening, ‘we stand with the people in the time of hardship, they stand with us during the time of ease,’ what we did is dedicated a $10,000 campaign from our jewelry, whoever drops off a donation receives a pair of stud earrings for free.”

After posting the campaign on Facebook, Tarrabin said the response was overwhelming.

“Wow, If I tell you, you won’t believe it. My office is full, my backroom is full, my showcases, I don’t even have jewelry to display its all food…it is awesome, Fort Mac has been nothing but great to us.”

They will continue to collect donations at their Peter Pond Mall location until March 20 and also have volunteers who will pick up donations and drop off the earrings.
