Some Other Solutions keeping phone lines open

As we navigate the uncertainty COVID-19 brings, Some Other Solutions has trained staff and volunteers ready to lend a listening ear, 24/7 on their crisis line 780-743-HELP (4357).

Some Other Solutions, Society for Crisis Prevention (SOS) is closing their office for public access due to the COVID-19 outbreak but they will continue to work in the community,

They can be reached during regular business hours by calling their main office line at 780-743-8605.

Rita Turner, Health and Wellness Manager with SOS says you can also call their 24-hour line anytime you need to chat with someone.

“Feel free to call us, we have people to talk to, It could just be having a conversation, it could just be us listening to your anxiety or what you are going through and then we can be that listening ear.”

The number to call is 780-743-HELP(4357).

She says it is important to keep our mental health in check to prevent panicking.

“If you like reading books, exercising, meditation, yoga, anything that works for you that could be a strategy, a comfort food could even be okay, just do it in moderation.”

The Canadian Mental Health Association of Wood Buffalo also released some tips on dealing with mental health during the outbreak.
