A police dog located a missing two-year-old boy who had wandered out of his residence in the Eagle Ridge area of Fort McMurray.

In the early morning of March 18, Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to the area and immediately requested assistance from a police dog handler.

The dog located the child quickly and emergency services was called to the scene to complete a routine check on the child’s health.

“Children maybe anxious to get outside with all that is occurring right now, so please keep a close eye on them and secure your residences,” says Justin Robertson, Wood Buffalo RCMP.

The child was found in good health, with no injuries but was cold.
