Wood Buffalo RCMP has created a dedicated “Call Back Unit” for non-emergency calls amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Police from the region will handle the calls where there is no risk to public safety and the investigation is not time-sensitive.
Detachment support staff will review the calls and forward those determined to be appropriate for the new unit.
Frauds relating to CRA, phone or online scams, lost property, theft or mischief may be considered for the Call Back Unit.
