EDMONTON (CityNews) – There are 31 new cases of COVID-19 in Alberta, according to the deputy chief medical officer of health.
In an update on Saturday afternoon, Dr. Marcia Johnson said despite the new cases, there are no additional deaths.
226 people are now confirmed to have contracted the virus, 16 of whom are believed to have contracted it from community transmission.

Of those cases, 11 people are in hospital and six are in intensive care.
There will be no in-person update held on Sunday, but a news release will be issued with update numbers and efforts to ‘flatten the curve’.

Not a lot of information was provided but Dr. Johnson was able to confirm that one of the new cases is at a seniors home, but due to patient confidentiality the location will not be released.
