A man with ties to Fort McMurray has been charged in relation to a reported child abduction and sexual assault.
The incident happened in west Edmonton earlier this month.
A release from Edmonton Police Service (EPS) dated March 11 said an 8-year-old female was walking home on March 10 when she was approached by a vehicle.
The male driver pulled her into the vehicle, sexually assaulted her and dropped her off nearby.
Wade Stene, 37, has since been arrested and is facing several offences.
Stene reportedly lived and worked in various locations in Alberta and British Columbia, including Fort McMurray.
As a result, detectives are concerned there may be additional complainants, who are encouraged to come forward to their local police.
