In response to the COVID-19 outbreak Keyano College has transitioned each of its courses, where feasible, for online delivery.

The College cancelled all face-to-face classes on March 15 as directed by Alberta Health Services and four days later began blending the delivery of courses using virtual tools.

The faculty are using eLectures, videos, screen captures, web conferencing, telephone, email, virtual labs and simulations to deliver the courses.

College administrators said the transition has gone well.

“In this time of uncertainty and change, Keyano College teams are working hard every day to ensure students have the tools and opportunities to be successful,” said President and CEO Trent Keough. “We continue to support our students through virtual means and there is amazing work going on behind the scenes that is making a difference.”

Student Services personnel and mental health coordinators and tutors are also assisting students throughout the transition.

The Keyano College library staff continue to assist students and faculty with their resource needs online while the physical library is closed.

Courses for the spring semester including college preparation courses are also being structured to move head through blended, online delivery guided by instructors.
