Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo launches online potluck

The Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo (MCA) has launched a Virtual Multicultural Potluck.

Held through a Facebook Event, the potluck invites our community to share photos, videos, recipes and other images of their families sharing favourite dishes.

MCA Vice-President, Robert Cree said they’d like to see Elders in families share their cultural knowledge with young people.

“As an Elder in my First Nations community, I know it is important to share our rich culture, especially in times of stress,”

Therese Greenwood, MCA’s executive director said they want to see all kinds of dishes.

“This is an opportunity for us to come together and celebrate our strengths as a community.”

The potluck is a part of a series the MCA is calling Multicultural YMM: Messages from Home.

MCA will announce a new virtual cultural event every week to celebrate traditional aspects that connect families.
