Symmetree Theatre will go digital.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the local theatre company will stream its original production “Freeing Heaven’s Secrets” online.

Residents may also watch it on ShawTV.

“Freeing Heaven’s Secrets” debuted in November 2019 at the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts.

“It’s been really inspiring seeing how the arts have brought our community together during this time of isolation, “ Said company founder Luay Eljamal. “Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen numerous artists share their craft with others online, in an attempt to connect with those who may feel far away right now. Our decision to share this production online was motivated by these gestures in the community.”

Eljamal added they hope to reach more residents, who didn’t have the opportunity to watch the stage production in-person.

“Freeing Heaven’s Secrets” features a story about a blind girl on her deathbed named Scheherazade.

She promises to recount her afterlife experiences to her father.

Residents may watch on social media until April 12, 2020.

Shaw Spotlight will also air the production everyday from April 13-19, 2020, at 7:30 p.m.
