COVID-19 death toll in Alberta at 20 after two people died, total cases reaches 1,181

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Alberta’s COVID-19 death toll is sitting at 20 after two additional people died from the virus.

The two deaths were from the Calgary Zone.

The province also found 106 new cases, 51 confirmed and 55 probable cases of people showing symptoms after being in close contact with a confirmed case, raising the total to 1,181.

The Calgary Zone currently has 734 cases which makes up 62 per cent of the province.

AHS is also tracking a total of nine outbreaks at long-term care facilities, in total these facilities now account for 93 cases.

There is now a total of 240 recoveries.
