Alberta reports 50 new cases, three more deaths from COVID-19

Alberta reported 50 new cases of COVID-19 in the province for a total of 1423.

Alberta said it believes 206 of the total cases are from community transmission.

The province also reported three additional deaths, all from Calgary Zone, bringing that total to 29.

There are also 72 newly resolved cases for a total of 519.

In the RMWB, which has six total cases, Alberta reported no new cases of COVID-19.

Alberta’s COVID-19 slope low, Kenney says

Premier Jason Kenney provided in-depth information on the modelling projections on COVID-19 in the province.

The province released the full breakdown of existing capacity of Alberta’s healthcare system, along with probable and elevated figures on its website.

“I know these numbers can be overwhelming. But these models are not a done deal. I want Albertans to see them as a challenge.” Said Premier Kenney. “The modelling helps us anticipate and prepare for the demands on Alberta’s health-care system so we can ensure we are prepared to support patients at the peak of the pandemic and beyond.”

To date, Alberta completed 68,762 tests.

Canada has 19,289 total cases of COVID-19, including 435 deaths.
