UPDATE: COVID-19 cases in Alberta up 28 for total of 1451
Alberta reported 28 new cases of COVID-19 in the province to bring the total to 1451.
The province also reported three more deaths bringing that total to 32.
They include a woman in her 60s and another in her 80s from Calgary Zone, and a man in his 70s from Edmonton Zone.

There are also 73 newly resolved cases for a total of 592.
There are no new active cases of COVID-19 in the RMWB.
Two more cases of COVID-19 in North Zone bring that total to 97, including four deaths.

Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, said 192 of the total cases may come from community transmission.

She also said on the new ways Albertans found to connect as they prepare family and religious celebrations for the weekend.
“I heard about one long-term care resident, who just celebrated her 101st birthday. Her family made signs and brought them to show through the window of the facility, while waving and smiling to celebrate her birthday all the while keeping appropriate physical distancing.”
Hinshaw said she hopes every Albertan would do their part to protect themselves and those around them over the long weekend.
Testing in the province increased to 70,247.
