Facilities not under Alberta Health Services (AHS) are being encouraged by the province to reach out and request personal protective equipment.

Facilities like pharmacies and independent medical clinics should submit requests for gowns, masks and gloves to the Government of Alberta by emailing pessecc-logistics@gov.ab.ca.

The Provincial Operations Centre is processing the requests and will distribute more than 1,500 orders in the coming days.

The government says there’s no shortage and that’s why they’ve offered help to other provinces last week.

More than 400 municipal first responder agencies will receive one million masks and one million pairs of gloves this week.

More than 900 long term care, supportive living, and addiction and mental health facilities will be getting more than 1.5 million masks.

The province says a large order is also being distributed to the Alberta Pharmacists Association for distribution to 1,400 pharmacies.
