Fort McMurray REALTORS® has reported a drop in sales across the board, with the exception of duplexes.

REALTORS® said that while numbers will be skewed until we are through the COVID-19 pandemic, homes are still being sold and viewed.

Along with the number of properties sold, the average sale price for single family homes, townhouses and apartment condominiums have also decreased between 3.41 per cent and 17.69 per cent.

Duplexes saw the biggest increase in March for average sale price, jumping from $250,750 to $443,400 year over year.

The average sale price for a single family vacant lot increased by 59.13 per cent, from $103,688 to $165,000.

Mobile with Land properties increased in average sale price by 2.07 per cent, from $246,270 to $251,375.

Public open houses have been cancelled, but real estate has been deemed an essential service. You can view homes through virtual open houses on Realtor.ca.

Some changes in the process of buying a new home or property include being sure your pre-approval is in place before viewing any homes and following all precautions set out by sellers.

Clients may also be asked not to attend home inspections in order to reduce risk.
