The Fort McMurray Catholic School Division (FMCSD) announced they would cancel classes for the remainder of the week.
The move is in response to the flooding which impacted Fort McMurray on April 27.
In a statement, Superintendent George McGuigan said school facilities would close from April 29 to May 1, 2020.
“This is to allow our families, and our staff to regroup. These are unimaginable times for many. Please reach out when you are in need of assistance.”
Counsellors with the FMCSD created a website to pool their flooding and COVID-19 resources.
