FMSPCA working to help families in need of pet accommodations

Photo. Supplied. The canines and cats at the FMSPCA have hung their stockings hoping to have them filled with toys, treats or a kennel sponsorshipS for the howl-idays.

The Fort McMurray SPCA is working to address the needs of families and animals that have been displaced due to flooding.

Selena MacIsaac with the SPCA said that so far they’ve taken in over 45 animals.

The SPCA is partnering with Northern Veterinary Services to house reptiles and amphibians as they’re better equipped to handle these types of animals.

If you’re in need of temporary accommodation for your pet you’re asked to register with the reception centre.

If you’re in need of supplies, you can call the shelter at 780-743-8997.

The FMSPCA is currently in need of water, dry dog food, leashes/collars, litter boxes and litter.

Monetary donations can be made at www.fmspca.ca.

That funding will go directly to costs associated with the day to day operations to run the shelter.
