Fort McMurray enters third day with no new COVID-19 cases
Alberta has reported 70 new cases of COVID-19 across the province and nine additional deaths.
That brings the total number of cases to 5836, including 104 deaths and 2942 recoveries.
In Fort McMurray, there are no new active cases as the total number sits at 22 with 11 recoveries.

This is the third day without new cases in the urban service area.

There are still no new cases outside the Urban Service Area, which previously boasted two resolved cases.
Imperial Oil also reported on May 1, 2020, 25 active cases at Kearl Lake in isolation since the onset of symptoms.
The company confirmed another 36 active cases who developed symptoms off-site.

Imperial Oil added a number of previous cases recovered and since left isolation.
The Cargill meat plant in High Level, Alta., reports 936 confirmed cases, including 810 recoveries.

Alberta Opposition Leader Rachel Notley spoke on Twitter addressing the plant’s recent re-opening amid concerns from the union and residents.

JBS Canada in Brooks also reported 469 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
The province said 998 total cases are within the city.

While she appreciates the acknowledgement of AHS, Notley said she still blames the Kenney government for the decision to re-open Cargill.

Alberta Health Services completed 164,722 tests, including 3527 in the past 24 hours.
