Canada Post resuming temporary delivery services

PHOTO. McMurray Aviation took this photo of the Canada Post delivery facilities on Thursday, April 30.

Canada Post is working hard to recover from the flood and to get an alternate delivery facility up and running.

They have resumed limited delivery to areas not affected by the flooding where it is safe to do so and are doing their best to serve the affected lower townsite.

Extra efforts have been made to deliver socio-economic cheques, but if you have not received yours it is available for pickup at the postal outlet in Thickwood at 190-121 Signal Road.

With three of the five postal offices serving Fort McMurray affected by the flooding, parcel pickup has been temporarily diverted to two postal outlets: 190-121 Signal Road and 103-112 Riverstone Ridge. Check the delivery notice card for the address of the post office to collect your item and bring valid government-issued photo identification to collect your mail.

For residents and businesses displaced because of the flooding, they can get free Mail Forwarding Service for one year.

Where they cannot make deliveries, mail and parcels have been secured at one of their facilities.
