Eight days with no new COVID-19 in RMWB

For the eighth day in a row there has been no new COVID-19 cases in the region.

Fort McMurray has had an additional recovery and as of May 9 there are three active cases with 19 recoveries in the Urban Service Area and two recoveries elsewhere in the RMWB.

Alberta reported 59 new cases, meaning there has been a total of 6,157 cases in the province.

Alberta’s COVID-19 hospitalization rates remain low with 74 people currently in hospital, 15 of whom are in intensive care.

In total, 4,204 Albertans have recovered from COVID-19 bringing the number of total active cases to 1,837 for the province.

The province also reported an additional death to bring the death toll to 116.
