The Hearts and Smiles campaign has raised more than $1 million for The Frontline Fund.

Canadians helped Rogers Sports & Media celebrate International Nurses Day on May 12 by supporting the campaign through the sale of t-shirts and masks.

President and CEO of Rogers Communications Joe Natale said they’re blown away by the response.

“I am inspired by our frontline healthcare professionals and their tremendous dedication to the safety and wellbeing of Canadians,”

Funds raised through the campaign will go directly to The Frontline Fund, which supports more than 150 hospital foundations across Canada, including the Northern Lights Health Foundation.

The funds will help provide frontline healthcare workers with personal protective equipment, supplies and will also support COVID-19 research, clinical trials and vaccine development.

Ted Garrard, CEO of the SickKids Foundation said the response has been incredible.

“On behalf of the more than 150 participating hospital foundations from coast to coast, who support hundreds of thousands of health care providers, our sincere thanks for your generosity.  Thank you for having our backs!”

Hearts and Smiles t-shirts and masks are still available for purchase.
