Canada post to host staggered mail pickup

Canada Post will be opening an alternative postal facility that will help process the mail after three of their five local facilities were impacted by the flood.

The new facility is located at 250 MacKay Crescent.

Customers will be able to pick up their mail and packages from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday, with the exception of statutory holidays.

Service will be prioritize for seniors and people with compromised immune systems during the first hour of the day.

Mail will be available for pickup at the location for customers whose mail delivery to their business, apartment or community mailbox has been temporarily suspended, if you had a postal box located at the main post office at 101-19 Riedel Street, at the River City Shoppers Drug Mart or Clearwater Sobeys postal outlets.

There will be a staggered mail retrieval process with physical distancing measures in place.

Customers can collect their mail on specific days based on their last name.

If your last name starts with A to F you can get your mail on Mondays and Wednesdays.

If your last name starts with G to M you can get your mail on Tuesday and Friday.

If you last name starts with N to Z you can get your mail on Thursday and Saturday.

Those who registered for the mail forwarding service will not have mail available for pick up at the new location. This free service is available free of charge until May 31.
