RMWB, Alberta flattening the curve of COVID-19

The Alberta government reported 19 new cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the number of total cases to 6735.

The province also reported no new cases for the RMWB.

This means the RMWB went six straight days, and 18 of 19 days, without a new active case of COVID-19.

There is one active case in Fort McMurray along with 21 recoveries, and also one active and two recovered cases outside the urban service area.

Alberta reported no new deaths from the virus for the second straight day.

To date, 128 Albertans died of COVID-19.

Televised updates from Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, will be available on a staggered schedule.

The next update from Hinshaw takes place on May 21, 2020.

There are 970 active cases in the province and 5637 recovered cases.

58 Albertans are in hospital receiving treatment, including seven in intensive care.

Alberta Health officials completed 221,571 tests, including 2,607 in the last 24 hours.
