The Municipality announced the opening of all off-leash dog parks in Fort McMurray.

Floodwaters impacted Sara Holden Dog Park in Waterways but the RMWB also declared it open on May 28.

The north side of the park closer to Raphael Cree Boat Launch remains closed as flood restoration efforts continue in that area.

All other off-leash dog parks re-opened as early as May 16.

Public health guidelines relating to the COVID-19 pandemic remain in effect.

Residents should maintain physical distancing of at least two metres between others, limit gathering in groups to 50 people.

Carry and use hand sanitizer with at least 60 per cent alcohol content and wash hands frequently after touching surfaces.

The RMWB also suggests sharing common equipment and toys with dogs and members of the same household or cohort group.

Waste bags at dog parks are unavailable, so the RMWB recommends residents bring waste bags from home and clean up after their pets.
