The Salvation Army Thrift Store is asking you to keep your donations until it’s ready to reopen.

The store has been closed due to COVID-19 and flooding, and is currently being used as a shelter.

Due to there being no space to sort or store donations Major Steve Hibbs said that anything left outside gets damaged and has to be thrown away.

Hibbs said they’re working hard to create a safe shopping environment.

“We look forward to re-opening so people can shop and recycle once again, helping us assist the vulnerable in our communities. We will open as soon as possible to do logistically and safely. However, we encourage people to watch social media for further updates.”

The organization’s storage bay in Taiganova was also damaged due to flooding.

Supporting Salvation Army Thrift Stores ensures vulnerable people receive basic necessities.
