COVID-19 cases jump in Fort McMurray

Alberta reported two new cases of COVID-19 in the RMWB.

That’s the highest single-day increase in cases in the region in more than a month.

Fort McMurray has four active cases and 21 recovered cases.

Three cases outside the urban service area all recovered.

The province has reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths from the illness in the last 24 hours.

The death toll remains at 143.

This marks the third-straight day Alberta recorded no new deaths from COVID-19.

Alberta also noted only 584 active cases and 6283 recoveries, an increase of 38 from the previous day.

52 Albertans are in hospital, including six in intensive care.

Alberta Health Services completed 260,365 tests.
