The Boil Water Advisory has been lifted in Abasand, Parsons Creek and Thickwood, including Dickinsfield and Wood Buffalo.

Alberta Health Services lifted the advisory on June 4.

“We’ve made excellent progress this week and are well ahead of our original schedule,” said Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Matthew Hough

Residents and businesses should flush their taps for five minutes and ensure equipment with a water line is drained, flushed, cleaned and disinfected according to manufacturers’ recommendations.

Water softeners should be run through a regeneration cycle and water heaters that have been set below 45 degrees Celsius should be drained and refilled.

The final phase of the plan to lift the Boil Water Advisory covers Beacon Hill, Gregoire, Prairie Creek, Saprae Creek, Timberlea and Taiga Nova.

It’s estimated the final phase will take one to three weeks to complete.

You may notice crews flushing hydrants and dechlorination pucks are flushing points.

Water is safe for consumption after being brought to a rolling boil for one minute.
