The province reported seven new cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths from the illness in the last 24 hours.

The number of new cases is the lowest in Alberta since March 12.

Alberta has 328 active cases, 146 deaths, and 6624 recovered cases.

44 Albertans are in hospital, including six in intensive care.

Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, said health officials completed a record 6455 tests.

Hinshaw thanked Calgary-based Exergy Solutions and financial support from Suncor for the donation of 200 new ventilators.

They would serve as short-term respirators that monitor and treat adult patients in case conventional respirators are not available.
