The province reported 64 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 48 hours.

Alberta did not update its reporting data on June 7.

There were also three additional deaths linked to the virus, for a total of 149 deaths in Alberta.

In total, Alberta has 355 active cases, and 6,698 recovered cases for a total of 7,202.

Officials hospitalized 44 Albertans with six in intensive care.

Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, also shared an update on the COVID-19 response at Edmonton’s Sofina Foods plant.

She also commended Albertans who participated in anti-racism demonstrations while exercising physical distancing and wearing masks.

Hinshaw did encourage Albertans to get tested for COVID-19.

She added contact tracing will be difficult, given crowd size.

Alberta updated its COVID-19 geospatial map to record active cases.

It also updated the total number of cases in the RMWB.

In Fort McMurray, there are four active cases and 18 recoveries, and three recoveries outside the urban service area.

The region’s total of 25 is a decrease of seven from Alberta’s report on June 6.

The North Zone reported 16 active cases, 16 deaths, and 211 recoveries, with five Albertans in hospital.

To date, Alberta completed nearly 300,000 tests.
