Alberta reported 40 new cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths.

Tom McMillan, Assistant Director of Communications with Alberta Health Services, previously said changes occur when health officials receive new information.

“Cases are not being removed from the map as they are resolved, so that would be a case of new information becoming available about the individual’s local geographic area.”

The province also reduced its death toll from COVID-19 from 151 to 149.

Health officials said autopsies show the illness did not cause two fatalities

Alberta has 379 active cases, including 45 in hospital and six in intensive care, and 6788 recovered cases for a total of 7316.

Chief medical officer of health, Dr Deena Hinshaw will provide another update on June 12.
