Behchoko RCMP alleged Theriault’s involvement as the driver in a fatal motor vehicle collision on April 22, 2020.

The collision, which occurred on Highway 3 northwest of Yellowknife, N.W.T., claimed the life of a female passenger and injured two others.

RCMP said it’s probable drugs and alcohol factored in the incident.

Theriault remains in Edmonton Police Service custody until they hand him over to Behchoko RCMP.

He faces several Criminal Code and GNWT Motor Vehicle Act charges related to the April 22 collision.
