Syncrude Mi Summer Camps will return for the 2020 summer season.

MacDonald Island Park and Anzac Recreation Centre presented by CNOOC will host the popular camps for kids ages 5-12.

The weekly day camps provide structured activities and physical play that teach creativity, inclusion, and positivity.

Regional Recreation Corporation CEO Graig Walsh said the camps also provide social connections for children in Wood Buffalo.

“The RRC has been working with industry partners and health authorities to design camp options that will continue to support the great experiences that kids in our region enjoy, while keeping health and safety as a top priority.”

Walsh added risk reduction plans for the safe operation of the summer camps will be in place for this year.

The RRC first announced its main relaunch plan on June 10, 2020.

Title sponsor Syncrude made possible a reduction in registration fees for the Mi Summer Camps.

“We are pleased to support opportunities for children in the region to enjoy the programming offered this summer by the RRC,” Said Kara Flynn, Syncrude’s Vice-President of Government and Public Affairs. “I’m sure kids, and their parents, will enjoy getting out of the house to enjoy safe and fun activities at these facilities.”

Registration begins on June 23 online.

Community members may also register up to two weeks in advance with Guest Services at MacDonald Island Park and Anzac Recreation Centre presented by CNOOC.

Syncrude Mi Summer Camps run from July 6 to August 28, 2020.
