Therese Greenwood, MCA Executive Director, said there is excitement within the group about sharing the submissions.

“We had a great response to our call to have residents sharing their community pride by singing the national anthem in the language of their choice.”

Residents speak at least 50 languages in Wood Buffalo.

Some of those languages featured in the video are Cree, Russian, and Tagalog.

Videos are available for viewing on MCA’s Facebook page and YouTube channel beginning each day at noon.

On Canada Day, MCA will release one multilingual compilation video of the national anthem.

Various locations around Fort McMurray will broadcast another video from a local community group.
