Active COVID-19 cases spike in Fort McMurray

Alberta reported five new cases and one recovered case of COVID-19 in Fort McMurray.

There are now 16 active cases within the urban service area along with 23 recoveries.

It’s the largest single-day increase in COVID-19 cases in Fort McMurray since the beginning of the pandemic.

11 active and three recovered cases of COVID-19 reside outside the urban service area.

Across the province, there are 44 new cases, no additional deaths, and 45 recoveries of the illness in the last 24 hours.

153 Albertans died during the pandemic.

There are 538 active cases of COVID-19 with 36 Albertans in hospital, including seven in intensive care.

7134 Albertans recovered from the illness.
