Several Alberta RCMP detachments participated in the execution of multiple warrants east of Edmonton.
Police would arrest three people on outstanding warrants, including a man and a woman from Wood Buffalo.
On June 22 at 10:30 a.m., Wood Buffalo Drug Section among others assisted the Two Hills and Smoky Lake Detachments execute a warrant on a rural property in Lamont County.
After arresting two men and one woman and securing the scene, RCMP sought an additional warrant to search the premises.
Once granted, police seized a handgun, ammunition, and drugs.
RCMP arrested 31-year-old Jeffrey Derrick Hefferan and 25-year-old Daphanie Carol Lee Kreutzer of Wood Buffalo.
They also arrested another unnamed Alberta man.
All three face the following charges:
- possession of a prohibited firearm
- possession of prohibited ammunition
- unsafe storage of a firearm
- unsafe storage of ammunition
- possession for a dangerous purpose
RCMP also charged them with possession of stolen property under $5000, and possession of a controlled substance, which police suspect is cocaine.
Hefferan faces an additional charge of breaching a prohibition order.
All three remain in custody awaiting a judicial hearing.
