The province reported a total of five new cases and seven recoveries of COVID-19 in the RMWB in the last 48 hours.
Alberta paused reporting on COVID-19 due to the Canada Day holiday.
Fort McMurray has six recovered cases along with one new case of the illness.
Outside the urban service area, there are four new cases and an additional resolved case.
Fort McMurray has 15 active cases and 37 recoveries of COVID-19, and there are 11 active cases and 15 recovered cases in Wood Buffalo’s rural areas.

Across Alberta, there were a total of 94 new cases and one death from COVID-19 to bring the total number of cases to 8202.
The report from June 30 indicated 30 new cases, while July 1 showed 64 new cases.
There are 542 active cases of COVID-19, 155 deaths, and 7505 recovered cases.
Hospitalization remains low with 44 Albertans currently in hospitals with eight in intensive care.
Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, discussed localized outbreaks in Calgary and Edmonton and the trend of COVID-19 for Albertans aged 20-29.

Hinshaw also referenced the possibility of Edmonton becoming a hub city for the NHL playoffs.
Dr. Hinshaw says she has no news if Edmonton has been chosen by the NHL, but that safety remains their top priority.
A plan was developed to protect teams, media and public.
Will rely on private testing and forming team cohorts.

She added there would be protocols for hotel staff addressing the needs of NHL teams, players, and staff.
Hinshaw also announced she would take a break the following week to recharge.
Daily reports will continue as scheduled.
Alberta health officials completed 464,070 tests.
