Spray parks open to signal start of summer

Municipal spray parks open on July 4.

Residents may use selected parks daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Public health measures linked to the COVID-19 pandemic and flood recovery efforts such as flushing remain in effect in some areas.

The RMWB asks residents to respect closed signs and barriers as crews continue their work to re-open those areas.

The following spray parks are open:

• Beacon Hill Spray Park
• Dr K.P. Wong Spray Park at the Syncrude Athletic Park in Timberlea
• Howard Pew Spray Park in Waterways
• Lakewood Spray Park in Eagle Ridge
• Parsons Creek Spray Park
• Wood Buffalo Spray Park

Grayling Terrace Spray Park and Borealis Spray Park remain closed.

Guests at spray parks should carry and use hand sanitizer as equipment and surfaces are not sanitized regularly.

Municipal staff ask residents to adhere to the following:

• Do not wear masks in the spray park as they may be a safety risk
• Do not touch sensors as they are motion-activated
• Maintain two metres of physical distance between others
• Wash your hands frequently
• Use hand sanitizer with at least 60 per cent alcohol
• Refrain from touching your face
• Only share common equipment with members of the same household or cohort 
• Stay home if you feel sick, travelled outside Canada in the past 14 days, or were in close contact with a COVID-19 case in the last 14 days
