RMWB observes 10 newly recovered cases of COVID-19

The province reported 10 recoveries of COVID-19 in the RMWB.

Fort McMurray has five recovered cases, along with a single new case of the illness.

There are now eight active cases and 48 recovered cases in the urban service area.

Five more cases recovered in Wood Buffalo’s rural areas, which has 20 resolved cases.

A pair of newly active cases did emerge outside the urban service area for a total of 18.

To date, there were no deaths of COVID-19 in the region.

In the last 24 hours, there are 46 new cases of the virus, one additional death, and 57 recoveries across the province.

Alberta has 608 active cases, 158 deaths, and 7716 recovered cases of COVID-19.

55 Albertans are in hospital, including seven in intensive care.

Alberta Health Services also declared a full outbreak of COVID-19 at Edmonton’s Misericordia Hospital.

The agency said three patients died, and another 20 patients and 15 staff tested positive for the virus.

AHS postponed all day procedures at the hospital and closed its doors to visitors except in end-of-life situations.

Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Howard Njoo said Canada is winning the battle against COVID-19.
