Morinville RCMP reported the death of the Fort McMurray man in a multi-vehicle collision east of the town.
Police responded to the scene at Highway 28 near Range Road 241 on July 8, 2020, at 4:42 p.m.
A vehicle travelling eastbound on Hwy 28 from Edmonton towards Gibbons collided with a semi-tractor trailer travelling westbound.
First responders declared the 50-year-old man from Fort McMurray, who was the lone occupant in the vehicle, deceased at the scene.
Morinville RCMP rerouted traffic on Highway 28 while completing the scene examination.
At 8:00 p.m., RCMP reopened the highway.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
