Keyano College announced the cancellation of the 2020 Gala.
The school said it decided not to hold the annual fundraiser and community staple this year due to COVID-19 restrictions and ongoing flood restoration work.
The annual Keyano Gala is a black-tie affair that attracts local business elites and dignitaries and raises funds for student awards and bursaries.
“Donor opportunities are continually updated and we look forward to launching new initiatives this fall.”
Last year, the Gala raised $200,000, an increase of $55,000 from the previous year’s event.
Country music star George Canyon headlined the 2019 Keyano College Gala, which also featured multi-CCMA award-winning group Emerson Drive.
Current and potential donors interested in supporting students may check out Keyano College’s website for more information.
