Across the province, there are 105 new cases and two additional deaths linked to COVID-19.

This is the second-straight day of more than 100 cases of COVID-19 in Alberta’s COVID response.

On July 16, Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, said she worries about a spike in new cases over the next two weeks.

That may be due to the reopening of more Alberta businesses and parks in the Relaunch, and reports of people not following public health orders.

Alberta has 859 active cases, 167 deaths, and 8193 recovered cases of the virus.

68 Albertans are in hospital receiving treatment with 13 in intensive care.

Dr Hinshaw will provide an update on Alberta’s COVID-19 response on July 21, 2020.
