RCMP arrest Fort McMurray youth involved in Grande Prairie drug bust

RCMP said a significant drug bust in Grande Prairie involving one youth from Fort McMurray.

On July 18, Grande Prairie RCMP, including its Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit, executed search warrants on four residences, a storage locker, and two vehicles.

Police seized the following drugs packed in various quantities for distribution:

  • 34 grams of cocaine
  • Eight grams of methamphetamine
  • Eight grams of fentanyl

 

RCMP also seized a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun, shotgun shells, two 40-calibre pistol magazines containing ammunition, and more than $15,000 cash.

They added the seizure of a Dodge Ram 1500 truck as offence-related property.

RCMP arrested the youth from Fort McMurray and two men from Edmonton, a 24-year-old and a 29-year-old.

They face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl, and several Criminal Code weapons charges.

All three will appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on August 26, 2020.
