RCMP detail fatal auto collision outside Janvier

Wood Buffalo RCMP restored traffic to normal along Highway 881.

Emergency crews are also no longer at the scene of a single-vehicle collision north of Conklin that claimed two lives.

On July 23 at 12:40 a.m., a vehicle heading southbound on Highway 881 struck a moose two kilometres north of Janvier Access Road.

Anzac Fire Department, Janvier Fire Department, RMWB Fire Department, RMWB Ground Ambulance and Wood Buffalo RCMP tended the scene.

First responders pronounced the adult male driver and driver’s side female passenger deceased at the scene.

Crews transported the front male and rear youth male on the passenger side to the hospital, where they received treatment and were released.

Police say they also found the moose dead at the scene.

Wood Buffalo RCMP will continue with its investigation.
