The United Way of Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo has a new President.

Its Board of Directors voted unanimously in support of Jordanna Lambert at their meeting on July 22.

Lambert shared her excitement about her new role with the organization.

“United Way FMWB currently funds 25 agencies and over 40 programs during a period of time when lots of individuals and families need support. We have a fantastic team of Directors who are ready to work with our community partners to positively impact Wood Buffalo.”

She succeeds outgoing President Steve Yatauro, who assumed the role in 2018.

He said Lambert’s experience makes her the perfect choice to lead the United Way in the region.

“My tenure as President has allowed me the incredible opportunity of working with a dedicated group of people focused on meeting community needs, and I am confident to hand over leadership to Jordanna’s very capable hands.”

Lambert has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare profession.

She was most recently the Director of Patient Care with Alberta Health Services.

Lambert’s one-year term begins immediately as Yatauro will remain on the Board as Past President.

The Executive Committee consists of Ken Sandmoen as First Vice-President, Andrea Hine as Second Vice-President, and Dale Mountain as Treasurer.
