Alberta reported 10 new cases of COVID-19 in the RMWB in the last 72 hours.
Fort McMurray has three new cases of the illness along with 56 recoveries.
Outside the urban service area, there are seven new cases but two newly resolved cases of COVID-19.
Prior to the July 27 update, Alberta’s website updated the number of cases in the rural hamlets showing five active cases and 39 recoveries.
There are now 10 active cases and 41 recoveries among Wood Buffalo’s rural communities.

Over the last three days, Alberta reported 304 new cases and eight additional deaths linked to COVID-19.

Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, said there were 110 cases reported on July 24, 103 cases on July 25, and 91 on July 26.
She also said the curve of COVID-19 is “no longer flat.”
Hinshaw says that children are known to have mild of asymptomatic versions.
Says it’s too soon to say if those who are low risk (ie kids) will help develop herd immunity.

Alberta has 1430 active cases, 186 deaths, and 8774 recovered cases.
Albertans between 20-39 years make up 45.8 per cent of active cases of COVID-19 or 656 of 1430 cases.
Hospitalization remains low with 88 Albertans receiving care, including 17 in intensive care.
Could Alberta step back?
Hinshaw says they look at metrics (hospitalizations/ICU), saying those figures are down slightly, adding they are not at a place where we would go backwards at this time.

To date, Alberta Health officials completed 651,335 tests.
In the last 72 hours, officials completed more than 28,000 tests.
