No new cases of COVID-19 in RMWB as region enters long weekend

Alberta reported no new cases of COVID-19 in the RMWB in the last 24 hours

Fort McMurray has five active cases and 56 recoveries, while eight active cases and 44 recovered cases reside outside the urban service area.

Alberta has 127 new cases and one additional death of COVID-19.

The province reported a total of 18 deaths linked to the illness across Alberta since July 27.

Alberta has 1386 active cases, 196 deaths, and 9261 resolved cases of COVID-19.

86 Albertans are in hospital with COVID-19, including 17 in intensive care.

The province had an outbreak of new cases following the Canada Day holiday.

Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, said Albertans should remain vigilant to prevent a similar occurrence in August.

Health officials completed 685,297 tests in the province.
