RES and Enbridge Pipelines launch Home Fire Safety Program

Regional Emergency Services (RES) is launching the seventh season of the Home Fire Safety Program with support of Enbridge Pipelines.

This year the program encourages residents of Timberline Drive and the surrounding area to see if they’re eligible to receive a free smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm.

The program is available to homes on Timberline Drive, Gladstone Street, Robichaud Street, Rock Bay, Roland Street, Rookery Bay, Ross Street and Royal Gardens.

Regional Fire Chief Jody Butz said that the program gives RES a chance to work with residents and ensure they’re aware of the potential risks in their home and ensure they’re prepared.

Since the program launched in May 2012, RES has inspected nearly 1,400 homes and installed over 1,700 smoke alarms.
