Despite province wide decline in new COVID-19 cases, more emerge in RMWB

Alberta reported six new cases and four recovered cases of COVID-19 across the region in the last 24 hours.

There are three new cases of the infection each in Fort McMurray and outside the urban service area.

Fort McMurray has 11 active cases and 59 recoveries, while there are five active cases and 52 recoveries among Wood Buffalo’s rural communities.

The increased vigilance from Albertans Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, mentioned on Aug. 4 appears to continue.

New cases of COVID-19 across the province are under 100 for the fifth consecutive day, with 94.

Alberta has 1146 active cases with 75 Albertans in hospital and 20 in intensive care.

Two more people died from COVID-19 to bring the death toll to 203.

9891 Albertan recovered from the virus, which is an increase of 137 from yesterday.

To date, Alberta Health officials conducted 727,335 tests.
