ST LOUIS (AP) _ Spire Inc. (SR) on Wednesday reported a loss of $92.3 million in its fiscal third quarter.
On a per-share basis, the St. Louis-based company said it had a loss of $1.87. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 7 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 8 cents per share.
The natural gas distributor posted revenue of $321.1 million in the period.
Spire expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.70 to $3.75 per share.
Spire shares have fallen 26% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 22% in the last 12 months.
