Transit Services will resume regular and school service on Aug. 28, 2020.

The Municipality said users can also plan for updates to their regular route schedules.

Precautions for COVID-19 remain in effect.

Bus routes for area schools will see some modifications, which come into effect on Aug. 31 in time for the first day of school.

Users should expect fewer trips on routes 7-12, 15-18, 41, 51, 61, 91 and 99.

School and regular routes will service students at Composite High School, École McTavish, Father Mercredi High School, Holy Trinity High School, and Westwood High School.

Transit Services partnered with Fort McMurray’s Public School Division and Catholic Board of Education to develop the bus routes and schedules.

The RMWB recommends users wear masks in situations where physical distancing isn’t practical.

Starting Aug. 31, students from grades 4-12 must wear masks while on public transit.

Transit Services said this decision will align with public health measures in Alberta’s school re-entry plan for 2020-21.

Residents should stay home if they feel sick, frequently wash their hands, refrain from touching their face with unwashed hands, and carry hand sanitizer.

Transit Services will continue waiving bus fees, allowing rear door entry, and maintain increased cleaning practices.
