Customers visiting Walmart locations across Canada will need to bring a face covering.

As of Aug. 12, all customers and associates have to wear a mask or face covering when visiting the store.

The company said in an email to MyMcMurray that over 60 per cent of its 400 stores are in regions where face coverings have already been mandated and the move creates consistency across the store network.

Stores will continue to have increased cleaning, a limit on the number of customers shopping in stores at one time and plexi-glass dividers at registers, customer service desks and in pharmacies.

Staff also go through wellness checks, including a temperature check at the start of each shift.
